A New Year’s Eve Wedding!? YES!!! Sarah and Blake’s special day was one for the books! They decided to tie the knot on New Year’s Eve and throw their friends a family a party to end a decade with a bang.

“Blake and I really wanted our wedding to be different, and our friends + family love to dance more than anything. So we decided to throw an amazing New Year’s Eve Wedding and Party. We looked at a ton of venues, but we needed a venue with no curfew that didn’t require us to organize transportation, and somewhere our guests could actually spend the night because of our wedding date. When we visited Rancho Bernardo Inn, we were instantly charmed by the twinkle lit trees, delicious food, and amazing staff. When we found out the ballroom didn’t have a curfew, we signed the contract!”

“The next challenge was transforming the ballroom (Sarah really didn’t want a ballroom wedding but prioritized the “no curfew” instead) into a backyard wonderland. Blake took over the staging because he wanted to surprise me, and boy did he deliver. The ballroom was totally transformed with swathes of fabric, market lights, and illuminated trees. Sarah handled the tablescapes, which were adorned with 20+ candles and greenery for a romantic effect. A slight touch of New Year’s – we made personalized kraft noisemakers as place cards. Our DJ was our real MVP. He played an amazing set and even rented a CO2 canon to enhance the party vibes every time the beat dropped! We streamed the NYC ball drop on a projector for the 30 min leading up to midnight, and then everyone came together on the dance floor for the final countdown. It was such a special moment, everyone embracing each other and kissing at midnight. The wedding was supposed to end at 1 AM, but we were having too much fun. We paid for the DJ to go until 2 AM!” – S+B

“It’s hard even to describe how amazing Morgan is, but let me try. Right from the beginning, it is apparent that she truly CARES about you and your fiance. This is not just a job for her, it’s her passion, and she wants to understand as much as possible about her couples and THEIR goals for their big day. She is an incredibly hard worker, so when she’s shooting, she is in the zone but also able to tend to your personal needs as the bride and groom – the entire time, she’s asking if there’s anything you need if you want to take a break if you want to get a quick touch up or need help with your veil. She can also command a group, which is HUGE. When you have a large wedding party as we did, you need a photographer who can wrangle the troops. All of this ON TOP OF her stunning work. She spent hours upon hours editing our photos, and I can’t thank her enough. I often look at them and think to myself, how is it possible to have this many photos that I’m obsessed with. All around – prep work, day of wrangling, shooting, kind heart, an amazing photographer, neurotic editor – you will not regret booking her. She’s also just an adorable hard-working mother of two, so being around her is inspiring. THANK YOU, MORGAN, FOR CAPTURING EVERY TENDER, CRAZY, WONDERFUL MOMENT OF OUR SPECIAL DAY. WE LOVE YOU!!!” -S+B
